Fatimah Hashim is Professor of Second Language Education in the Department of Language and Literacy Education, Faculty of Education, University of Malaya. Fatimah has extensive experience of second language teacher development and research supervision.
Among others, she has authored books and journal articles on second language reading and early literacy development. Her research focuses primarily on improving learning for marginalized and disadvantaged second language learners. She is currently leading a research team which examines young learners’ visual literacy practices and the impact of online stories on ESL literacy development.
