- Paul Cookson is the poet- in- residence at the National Football Museum, in Preston.
- He is a former teacher, illustrator and performer who spends most of his time visiting schools, performing his poetry and helping children to write their own poems since 1989 and has sold over 865,000 books for Macmillan alone.
- He has performed extensively throughout the country, at libraries, pop concerts, churches, pubs, and radio stations.
- He has worked in schools in Uganda, Beijing, Singapore, Switzerland and France and worn his Captain Concorde nose and Captain Concorde big red underpants at most of those schools!
- Visited around 4000 schools (and therefore done over 4000 performances and well over 12,000 workshops!)
